POPJE.COM was founded by the Dutch designer Marenthe Otten (1969) in January 2006 following the birth of her daughter Lila Poppy. It was the subsequent search to try to find the ideal birth announcement card which inspired Marenthe to ultimately design and create her own collection. Since then beautifully coloured designs and stunning graphics together with delightful, charming illustrations have quickly become the trademark of the birth, wedding and greeting cards produced by this Dutch designer. With the obvious love and enthusiasm that went into producing that first birth card for her daughter, Marenthe prides herself on creating each and every design with a continued passion.

Marenthe is a partner of graphic and illustration design bureau Studio 't Brandt Weer (www.tbrandtweer.nl) in The Hague, which has won many international prizes and awards. Marenthe has illustrated for clients including Elle Magazine, Elle Girl NL and Korea, Heineken, fashion designer Erik Verdonck and Oilily. Marenthe, who studied at the Academy of Arts in Belgium, has also illustrated a number of children's books.

She lives in The Hague with her daughter Lila Poppy and son Piet Soetje.
