Question 1: Can I receive a sample?
Yes, we are very happy to send you a sample (not the greeting cards). POPJE.COM has a number of example cards in stock, which we can send you free of charge so that you can judge the paper and printing quality prior to the design process. Obviously this is without any obligations for you to order. You can also order (at an extra cost) a printed paper sample on your selected paper with your actual finalised design, so this is the card as close as possible to the ones that you fill receive.
Question 2: How long in advance should I order my announcement cards?
That's up to you, but generally people order their birth cards 4-6 weeks in advance prior to the due date, and around 3 months prior to their wedding day. Please be aware that it takes 7 working days before you receive your digital sample, plus additional time for any further alterations. If you are in a hurry and need to receive the cards sooner (i.e. your baby is already born), then you can place an express order (one day turnaround) at an extra cost.
Question 3: I don't yet know the exact quantity of cards that I need. Can I already place an order?
Yes, no problem at all. When you place the order you fill in the anticipated quantity you require. Before the cards are printed you can change the quantity by contacting us. You will then receive either an additional invoice (which must be fully paid prior to the cards being printed), or the excess amount will be refunded to your bank account within 14 days.
Question 4: Can I receive the envelopes in advance of the cards?
Yes, you can. As soon as we receive your order AND your payment, we will send you your envelopes. Our international clients have the option to receive the envelopes prior to the cards or jointly, however additional postal costs for sending 2 seperate packages will be charged.
Question 5: My baby’s gender is unknown. How do I order a card?
If the gender of your child is as yet unknown, you can select a design for both a boy and a girl in advance. Firstly you click on girl, select a card and follow the online design instructions. After step 11, you click I wish to order something else. You then design a card using the same card dimensions for a boy. You will be placing two orders, but will only pay for one. As soon as your child is born, you instruct POPJE.COM whether to print the boy's or the girl's card.
Question 6: Can I change the colours of the card?
Yes, the colours of the texts and images can both be changed to your exact requirements. We are very pleased to listen to your preferences, so if you want to change a blue into purple or a specific shade of blue, then that is not a problem. You can inform us of your preference in the 'comments' box when placing your order, and we will contact you to discuss this further. We would recommend that you order a paper sample so that you can be sure that the colour will be to your specifications.
Question 7: Can I supply my own texts?
Yes, you are entirely free to compose the text you would like on your card (space permitting) and identify where on the card you would like which text. For example many of our clients include poetry or quotations. If you are looking for inspiration, see the Gallery Menu on the home page.
Question 8: Which typefaces can I use?
You can select from a variety of typefaces. We prefer that you select one of the typefaces from the website, but if you want to use a different one, then please contact us to discuss. You can also opt for a hand-written text, whereby we write each individual card by hand, making this a very unique card.
Question 9: Can I commission you for a uniquely designed card?
Yes, we are very happy to design for you unique cards for your unique life moments. Please contact us to discuss.
Question 10: My baby is born. What do I do now?
Congratulations! You will need to provide the final details for the birth announcement (incl. name(s), weight, date and place of birth) via geboorte@popje.com or by text on 0031 621964692. To ensure that these details have been received correctly, we also advice you to phone us in person on the same number. You can receive the cards by regular or express mail (prices differ, see price menu).
Question 11: My baby is already born. Can I place an express order?
Yes, you can. For an additional cost of 25 euros you will receive the digital sample within 1 working day instead of the usual 5 working days. You can still make alterations, and the cards will be printed as soon as you have signed off the final design and payment has been received.
Question 12: My baby has come early. What do I do now? (no problem if ordered, just let us know)
Congratulations! If you designed and ordered your card then follow the steps in question 10. If you didn't order in advance, then see question 11, as you can order an express design.
Question 13: How long after the birth will the cards be delivered?
When you report the birth to POPJE (see question 10) it will take 1-2 working days to get the cards printed. You can select a standard or express delivery service. (for postage costs and delivery times see the Price menu on the home page). We are able to deliver in 95% of the cases within the shortes quoted period.
Question 14: I live outside the Netherlands. Can I order cards from POPJE.COM?
Yes, absolutely. We can deliver all over the world!
Question 15: Can I cancel an order?
Yes, that's possible, however this will incur costs. If you wish to cancel an order for a birth, adoption or wedding card after receiving the digital sample, then you will be charged 35 euros. Cancellations of exclusive designs incur a charge of 200 euros. Cancellation of cards with handwritten text will cost 40 euros. If you have already received the envelopes, then the cost of the envelopes plus their postage will be charged to you (if returned in good order). If you have already paid, POPJE.COM will refund the outstanding balance to your bank account within 14 days.
